1976 Rev. Moon (LF & daughter)

Newsweek shoot in 1976 of Rev. Moon of the Unification Church. Year of huge "Bicentennial "rally at Yankee Stadium . In the photo: Moon, assistant Pete Silver, LF, Tish Fried and Col. Bo Hi Pak. Pak tried to keep Moon smiling throughout the shoot. Finally Fried got a serious expression and that was the image that was used (see "Religion").

(Pak was a lieutenant colonel in the South Korean military when he joined the church in the 1950s. Serving church founder Sun Myung Moon as his main English interpreter during speaking tours in the United States, he was referred to in the media as Moon's "right-hand man."
